Proteus Co- Polymer Polypropylene is inexpensive, versatile, easy to fabricate and won't crack from road vibration. It works well in orthotic devices that require a lower degree of rigidity and can be used for applications requiring chemical resistance and/or FDA compliance.
Polypropylene Copolymer Features
High impact resistance strength
No moisture absorption
Meets food handling guidelines
More pliable than homopolymer
Chemical- and corrosion- resistant
Better resistance to cracking at low temperatures than other materials
Polypropylene Homopolymer
Polypropylene is a crystalline material with excellent chemical resistance, high strength-to-weight ratio and high performance in corrosive and thermoforming environments.
Polypropylene Homopolymer Features
Chemical - and corrosion-resistant
No moisture absorption
Appropriate for applications to 180°F (82°C)
Resists most acids, alkalis and solvents
Meets FDA 21CFR 177.1520
Thermoforming performance
Meets USDA guidelines for use in federally inspected meat and poultry packing facilities
Polypropylene Flame Retardant 18G
Polypropylene Flame Retardant 18G has been rated V-0/5VA per UL 94 test for flammability. It features "refrigerator white" pigment specified by the electronics industry and comes in high gloss sheet that is film masked to retain aesthetic qualities.
